Chillicothe Announces Two Classes of Inductees for Athletic Hall of Fame

The Chillicothe High School Athletics Hall of Fame Committee will induct two classes in a combined ceremony on Saturday February 3rd, 2024. The ten new members will be recognized before the Cavaliers’ Boys Varsity Basketball game with Jackson.  

The 2021 and 2022 Classes are made up of nine individuals in addition to another recognized with the Award of Merit.

Those inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame include:

Heather Rose Beamer (CHS 2003): Heather was All-Ohio in 2002 finishing 4th in the state and was the 2002 Ohio Junior Girls Golf Champion. She golfed collegiately at Michigan State University where she’s listed in the Top-10 best stroke total all-time.

Jennifer Miller-Boyd (CHS 2002): Miller was MVP of the Chillicothe Girls Soccer team twice and a three-time All-District selection and finished her high school career among the top five in career saves in the State. Miller was a four-year letter winner in Softball and served as Homecoming Queen in 2001. She was a member of the Womens Soccer team at Morehead State and was All-Academic OVC each of her four years, graduating Magnum Cum Laude in 2006.

Rey Bradley, an educator for 35 years and former longtime Chillicothe Teacher, Coach and served as Athletic Director before his death in 2011. Bradley served as Girls Head Basketball Coach for several seasons. He was a graduate of Virginia State College.

Anthony “Humpty” Hitchens (CHS 2008): Anthony was a 1st Team Division II All-Ohioan, 2008 Southeast District Player of the Year and a member of the 2008 Ohio Division II State Boys Basketball Champions. Hitchens played basketball at the University of Akron and James Madison University. After college, Hitchens played professionally in Germany.

Seth Dawes: (CHS 2009): Seth was an All-Ohioan, four-time All Southeast District selection and 2009 SEOAL MVP in Baseball. He was also an All-Ohioan in basketball and was a member of the 2008 Ohio Division II State Boys Basketball Champions, inducted to the Hall in 2016. During his basketball career, Dawes played in an all-time high 96 games for the Cavaliers. Dawes played baseball at Xavier University.

Michael Fairrow (CHS 1977): A three-sport athlete, Fairrow was selected team MVP on Basketball, Track & Field and twice in Football. Fairrow was an All-District selection in Football, selected to play in the North-South All-Star Game in Basketball and was a State qualifier in Track & Field. His times in the 100 Yard and 220 Yard Dash still stand as records today.

Mindy Montgomery (CHS 1989): A winner of 12 varsity letters, Montgomery excelled in Basketball, Softball and Volleyball. She was a two-time All-OCC selection and All-District selection in Volleyball and Basketball, including All-Ohio. In Softball, she was three-time All-OCC selection, Co-District Player of the Year and Team MVP. She also hurled two no-hitters against Delaware and Pickerington. She played collegiately at Rio Grande.

Caleb Knights (CHS 2009): Knights was a four-year starter in Basketball, playing in 91 games over that span. He was an integral part of the 2008 Division 2 Basketball State Championship team as the point guard. On the gridiron, Knights started 37 games at quarterback. He was a dual threat for defenses, throwing for 4,956 yards with 33 touchdowns and rushing for 1,816 yards and 21 touchdowns. His career totaled 6,277 multi-purpose yards. After a stint with the Air Force Academy, Knights completed his education at Wright State University.

Tommy Bolte (CHS 2015): Bolte is a 1,000 point scorer and a All-SCOL and All-Ohio selection. While playing for Division II Concord University in West Virginia, Bolte led the nation in scoring with a 31.8ppg average and was an All-American selection. He also played professionally in Spain and Portugal after graduation for Concord.

Recognized with the Award of Merit for his longtime contributions to Chillicothe Athletics as football and basketball scoreboard operator, Scott Merrill.
