Chillicothe Boys/West Union Girls Champs of Aaron Reed CC Invitational

Chillicothe Boys and West Union Girls are team champions of the 2024 Aaron Reed Memorial Cross Country Invitational held at Southeastern High School on Saturday.

The annual meet is named in honor of Southeastern HS graduate Aaron Reed, who was among the 14 members of the Lima Company Marine Battalion, who were killed in Iraq during a single explosion August 3, 2005.

Saturday’s race saw Chillicothe Boys as team winner with Manchester second. Whiteoak’s Landen Eyre win the individual title in a time of 16:06.99. Jayden Beverly of Chillicothe was runner-up in a time of 17:36.94.

On the girls side, West Union claimed the team title with Manchester second. Freshman Gabby Maranzana of Chillicothe ran away with the individual crown in a time of 19:45.77, while runner-up Vanessa Conley of Adena had a time of 21:21.10.
