Chillicothe Elks Hoop Shoot Winners to Compete in District Tournament Sunday

The annual Elks Hoop Shoot District competition will be held at Jackson High School at 12:00pm this Sunday in the fieldhouse adjacent to Alumni Stadium.

Winners from the Chillicothe event held in December will be competing to advance to the State competition at Liberty Middle School in Newark February 21st.

The District qualifiers representing Chillicothe Elk’s #52 in each division are:
Boys 8-9 year-olds: Maddox Minnehan (Huntington Schools)
Girls 8-9 year-olds: GiGi Trotter (Chillicothe Schools)
Boys 10-11 year-olds: Ean Huffer (Unioto Schools)
Girls 10-11 year-olds: Ainsley Weaver (Paint Valley Schools)
Boys 12-13 year-olds: Joshua Strong (Chillicothe Schools)
Girls 12-13 year-olds: Skye Martin (Unioto Schools)

Ainsley Weaver is a qualifier for a fourth consecutive year. She was the 8-9 year-old National Winner in 2024, the seventh from Ohio to win the Getty Powell Award since 1973. Joshua Strong is making his second consecutive trip to the District.

State winners will compete in the United States Great Lakes Region 4 Hoop Shoot the weekend of March 14-16 with those winners advancing to the National Competition in Chicago the weekend of April 24-27.
