Chillicothe vs Jackson for FAC co-championship

Chillicothe & Miami Trace Share 2025 FAC Volleyball Championship

Article Presented By McDonald’s, “I’m Lovin’ It!”

There will be co-champions in Frontier Athletic Conference Volleyball for 2025, as Chillicothe and Miami Trace concluded their league schedule with wins Thursday, sharing the crown at (9-1). The two teams split their two matches against each other while running the table vs the rest of the FAC.

Chillicothe 3, Jackson 0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-17)
The Lady Cavs had little trouble in their three-set sweep over Jackson, breaking away from a 10-9 lead in Set 1, building leads of 17-11 and 22-15, then settling for a 25-16 opening Set 1 victory.

Set 2 was even more lop-sided with Chillicothe taking off to a 9-3 lead then 22-14, before concluding with a 25-18 win.

Set 3 was a bit tighter midway through as Jackson pulled even at 12-12. The Lady Cavs then went on a 8-3 run for a 20-15 advantage, then scored five of the next seven points for the 25-17 match victory and a share of the FAC title.

Chillicothe’s stat leaders were Evelyn Hamman 22 Kills, 3 blocks
Isabella Witte 37 Assists and 10 digs
Campbell McAllister 29 digs
Natalie Dudley 5 aces and 11 digs

(9-1/13-7) Chillicothe conclude their regular season with matches at Waverly on October 6th and home with Vinton County on October 7th.

Miami Trace 3, Washington 0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-12)
The Miami Trace Panthers claimed their fifth straight FAC Volleyball title with a sweep of their Fayette County rival Washington Blue Lions.

Washington started quickly in Set 1 for a 4-1 edge, but the Panthers 8-0 run gave them a lead they never relinquished for the 25-16 decision.

Set 2 again saw the Blue Lions out early for a 5-3 advantage and led 10-6. Miami Trace then assumed control and rolled to a 19-14 lead and the 25-15 win for a (2-0) match lead.

Set 3 saw Miami Trace leading the distance, getting out of the gate to a 11-2 start and saw Washington only get to within 16-7 before pulling away for the 25-12 title win.

Miami Trace’s stat leaders were Lauren Farrens with 15 kills, Lauren Guess 8 kills, Ella Butts 5 kills, Keionnie Ackley 11 digs, Kylie Yeazel had 29 assists and 4 aces while Brooklyn Radcliff also served 4 aces.

(9-1/12-5) Miami Trace has two dates for non conference match dates of October 8th and 11th.
