Chillicothe Noon Rotary Club To Assist July 4th Fireworks Fund Drive

Presented By Rathkamp Financial

The Chillicothe Noon Rotary Club has approached the City of Chillicothe, as they did in 1976 for the nation’s bi-centennial, offering to raise funds for the July 4th Fireworks Show.

Charles “Buzz” Knoles chaired that 1976 effort, and now his son Charles “Bill” Knoles is taking on the same position to help with fund raising effort, which was announced at Monday’s Noon Rotary Meeting.

“In recent years, city funding has been reduced and the displays, although good, are not on par with comparable sized communities and Ohio’s first capital deserves better”, according to Rotary Club press release.

In recent years, budget constraints for Chillicothe’s show has been down around $15,000. “We are doing $25,000 shows in backyards now, just to give you a reference of what we need”, according to Brian Knoles, who assists the July 4th Fireworks pyro tech team.

Brian Knoles added- “Another big advantage, we have is the group putting on the display is made up of local professional volunteers. We want this to become the biggest fireworks show in southern Ohio.”

The club receives a small fee for insurance and other expenses for future events, but the members receive no compensation. More information will be forthcoming about the fundraising effort.

If you have questions on how to get involved, contact Bill Knoles at (740) 637-3549 or any member of the Noon Rotary Club.
