Chillicothe Upset Of Miami Trace Allows Jackson to Clinch Share of FAC Baseball Crown
Article Presented By Kingston National Bank…
The Jackson Ironmen have defended their FAC Baseball title without playing Thursday. The title clinch came thanks to the Chillicothe Cavaliers 9-7 upset win at Miami Trace, handing the Panthers their second conference loss with only two league contests to play.
Those final two games for (6-2) Miami Trace are against (8-0) Jackson, where the Panthers would need to win both to share the conference championship with the Ironmen. The Cavs huge win concluded their FAC season at (5-5).
Chillicothe never trailed in their victory, scoring 3 in the top of the first, then adding 2 in the third, and 4 runs in the fourth inning. Miami Trace tallied 2 runs in the second, 2 in both the fifth and sixth innings, then 1 in the bottom of the seventh, falling 9-7.
Miami Trace hosts Jackson Friday (5/9), then travels to Jackson Monday (5/12) to wrap up FAC play.
