Chillicothe’s Flores Advances To State Tennis Tournament

With two wins Tuesday in the Central District Tennis Tournament, Chillicothe senior Bella Flores has qualified for the 2024 Division 1 Girls State Tennis Tournament next week.

Flores will play again in the District Tournament on Friday at Columbus Academy to determine seeding at the State tournament.

Bella did not lose a match through the regular season and continues her hot streak through post-season play.

Flores defeated Julia Carprico of Worthington Kilbourne) 6-2/6-1, then defeated Ari Clements of New Albany 7-6/6-1. In this match, Bella was down 2-5 in the first set and came back to win it.

Flores returned to Districts Friday at Columbus Academy to play for seeding positions.

In her first match she lost to Lauren Burkett (Dublin Coffman) 6-2/6-1 (Who was the eventual District Champion)

She then defeated Amelia Kunard (Dublin Scioto) 6-3/6-2 and finished in third place at Districts.

Bella will now play at the D1 State Tournament which is October 17th & 18th at The College of Wooster.
