CHS Men’s Volleyball Victorious over Saint Charles

The Greater Columbus Volleyball Club Boys Volleyball League Championships were Monday night at Westfall.
The 17-3 (9-0 in conference play) Chillicothe Cavaliers were triumphant over the Saint Charles Cardinals in two sets.
CHS was dominant in the first set, with only a little resistance in the beginning, but keeping a steady lead over Saint Charles to find victory 25-12.
The second set was fiercely competitive, with the Cavaliers playing from behind for most of the action. At one point down 19-12, Chillicothe snatched a victory at the very end, winning 25-22.
Mercer Cutright led the team in kills, with 10 on 16 attacks. Jeremyah Teurman added 5 and Elijah Hardiesty 3. Landen Cox and Mercer Cutright each served 3 aces. Lucas Sprague dished out 12 assists with David Rourke 7. Justin Rubia led the defense with 17 digs and Mercer Cutright 7. Wesley Scott had two blocks.
Chillicothe was well represented with the All GCVC Honors:

Second Team: Elijah Hardiesty, Landen Cox
Honorable Mention: Isaac Herlihy, Wesley Scott
Chillicothe will start hosting tournament matches on May 7th against Patriot Prep. The second home match, should they win against Patriot Prep would be on 5/9 vs DeSales. If CHS wins that, they play again on 5/14, and the round after is on 5/18.
“This group of guys has played since 2021 as freshman, and they’re just showing you what we can do when you have guys in the area that are interested in volleyball,” said Coach Andrew Vitatoe.
