
Circleville Advances To Regional Baseball Final With “W” vs Dover

The Circleville Tigers kept their hot-hand alive with a 3-1 victory over Dover in the Division 3 Baseball Regional Semis at VA Memorial Stadium, Thursday. Circleville advanced to the finals set for June 6th at 5pm, also at VA Memorial Stadium against Licking Valley, who beat Watterson 2-0.
The Tigers scored a run in the fourth and 2 more in the fifth inning for their offense, while only giving up 1 run in the top of the seventh. Trent Smith picked up the win on the mound, while also providing some help with the offense.
The Tigers got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning thanks to a lead off triple by Trent Smith. Chase Foster reached on an infield chopper that Dover booted, allowing Smith to score from third for a 1-0 lead. The Tigers upped their advantage in the bottom of the fifth inning on Glavine Bigam’s RBI triple to scores Kiser Cassidy, making it 2-0. Austin Gray followed with an RBI single to score Bigam, increasing their lead to 3-0.
(22-7) Dover responded with a run in the top of the 7th, but Circleville held-on for the 3-1 win to improve to (22-7) and advancing to the regional final at 5pm June 6th at VA Memorial Stadium against the Licking Valley.
