Circleville Turkey Trot Returns Thanksgiving Morning to Support Local Food Programs
Article Presented By Herlihy Moving & Storage…
(Circleville) – The annual Circleville Turkey Trot will once again take place Thanksgiving morning, inviting runners and walkers of all ages to enjoy a 5K through the streets of Circleville while supporting local efforts to fight food insecurity.

This year’s proceeds will benefit two local programs — the Emergency Clearinghouse Food Pantry and the Community Cupboards of Pickaway County — both of which work year-round to provide food and essentials to individuals and families in need.
In 2024, the Turkey Trot raised more than $8,700 for the PICCA Fresh Produce Market and drew 303 participants ranging in age from 5 to 90, representing seven states including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, Virginia, and Florida. Organizers hope to surpass that success in 2025.
The 5K begins at 9am on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27th, starting and ending at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 129 W. Mound Street, Circleville. Participants can sign up at the early-bird rate of $30 through October 31st.
“The Turkey Trot is such a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition — a way to come together, get moving, and give back,” said Jim Rocklin, Co-Chair of the Circleville Turkey Trot Committee. “It’s inspiring to see how our community shows up each year to make a difference for local food programs.”
This community-driven event is made possible by the support of generous local sponsors, including Elite Sponsors: The Savings Bank, Circleville Eagles, Pickaway Flooring Center, and the Circleville & Circleville Sunrise Rotary Clubs, and Premier Sponsors: Homeland Credit Union, Health Care Logistics, and Elsea Inc. Numerous additional community sponsors also contribute to making the event a success each year.
