(Chillicothe) – There is updated information concerning the proposed Cohen Orthopedic site plan north of Chillicothe, according to a Facebook response post from Dr. Cohen, about the medical site development.
The plan was originally announced in 2023, where Dr. Brian Cohen spoke with Litter Media’s Dan Ramey, which you can watch below:
See Dr. Brian Cohen’s Facebook news update below, from 10/16/25:
The City of Chillicothe and Green Township officially approved the Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) agreement with Cohen Orthopedic.
In the coming weeks, Green Township and Cohen Orthopedic will finalize the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) agreement – which will fund construction of critical infrastructure on the site (roads, sewer, retention ponds, etc.).
The JEDD provides new tax revenue streams for both the Township and the City — revenue that isn’t available anywhere else outside city limits in Ross County.
The TIF ensures the foundation for what’s to come is strong – literally and figuratively.
Timeline:
- Infrastructure construction begins by the end of this year.
- ASC/MOB construction will begin in early 2026.
“My apologies for the delay – this has truly been a labor of love. The full depth and breadth of this project will make it a destination not only for healthcare, but also for youth, adult, and semi-pro athletics. The ASC/MOB and micro-Hospital will stand as a living example of how patient safety and patient & employee experience can — and will — be elevated to the highest of standards. This project reflects my unwavering commitment to redefining healthcare delivery in Southern Ohio, combining innovation, community investment, and excellence in patient care.“
