Creating Healthy Communities Conducts Ross County Survey

Article Presented By Scioto Valley Dumpsters, LTD

(Chillicothe) – The Creating Healthy Communities (CHC) program (funded by Ross County Health District) is requesting community input on the selection of 2023 healthy eating and active living projects to help reduce chronic disease in Ross County. Please complete this year’s survey by July 15 to make sure your voice is heard.

A link to the survey can be found via the RCHD’s Creating Healthy Communities page by CLICKING HERE:

By implementing sustainable strategies, CHC helps improve access and affordability of healthful food, increase opportunities for physical activity, and assure tobacco-free living.

CHC has already implemented: Ross County’s Active Transportation Plan; Paint Valley Local School District’s Elementary playground updates to include ADA accessibility ramps; two food service guidelines policies to offer healthful food alternatives within the Paint Valley Preschool and the RCHD; Chillicothe Farmers Market Online Ordering System; Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library Book-a-Bike Bike Share Program; Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library edible orchard and community garden.

CHC’s current projects include expansion of the Chillicothe Farmers Market to the village of Bainbridge, development of Chillicothe’s Complete Streets policy, and implementation of the Mt Logan Community Garden.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Creating Healthy Communities program or participating to make Ross County a healthier community for all is welcome join the next coalition meeting on Monday, July 11th at 11:00 am at the RCHD located at 150 East Second Street in Chillicothe.
