Cuckler Retires as Huntington Twp Fire Chief

(Huntington Twp) – At a special meeting on August 9th, 2025, the Huntington Township Board of Trustees accepted the retirement of Fire Chief Larry Cuckler, effective August 10th, 2025.

Chief Cuckler served 49 years as a Firefighter and EMT beginning with Scioto Township in 1976.

He joined Huntington Township Fire Department as a volunteer in 1995, and became Chief around 2012. He was instrumental in organizing paid duty crews at this department, which now has 6 full time members as well as many part time and volunteer members. 

The board would like to congratulate Chief Cuckler on his retirement, and he will continue to work part time hours within the department. 

The board of trustees would also like to introduce Captain Austin Depugh as interim Chief until a permanent one is appointed.
