Daniel & Jessica Greiesheimer Usher Chillicothe into an Era of Filmmaking

Article Presented By Classic Brands…

Daniel and Jessica Greiesheimer find themselves taking up the challenge of making Chillicothe a film hub along the lines of Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta.

For Daniel, this means bringing a “Make Your Own Movie” class to Ohio University’s Chillicothe campus.

The class is split into nine parts, each costing $20 to attend, with subjects ranging from “How to Write & Develop a Screenplay,” to “Understanding Cinematography & Camera Techniques.”

The classes begin on March 6th in Bennet Hall 131, and you can register here. Classes are each Wednesday from 6-8pm, with the final session on May 1st.

Greiesheimer would also like to hold a small film festival with the students in the class participating, and each student will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Jessica Greiesheimer is using her own skillset to create a movie of her own, called “Without Her.” The film is being made to bring attention to domestic abuse and is told from a dog’s perspective whose owner is a victim of abuse.

Greiseheimer said in an interview, “I’ve always been told that I’m too sensitive, but I believe that sensitivity is a part of what makes us as humans so wonderful.” She adds, “a lot of it was written from my own story from somebody who was a victim of domestic abuse that never even knew I was a victim until I became a survivor.”

Filming is set to begin this March, and Greiseheimer is hoping to hold a premiere of the movie in October. For more information about “Without Her,” visit the film’s website.
