COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Veterans Services invites the public to a special Women’s History Month event honoring the courage, resilience, and contributions of women in the military on Sunday, March 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum.

This community event will feature an afternoon of networking, author discussions, and meaningful conversations centered on women’s military experiences and stories. Light refreshments will be provided during the networking hour from 2 to 2:30 p.m., followed by an author discussion beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Great Room at the museum, located at 300 W. Broad St., Columbus.

The event aligns with several significant observances, including:

  • The recent signing of Senate Bill 17, designating March 9 as 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion Day
  • National Vietnam Veterans Day and Tuskegee Airmen Day Ohio – March 29
  • Women’s History Month

Featured books and authors include:

  • A Soldier’s Life: A Black Woman’s Rise from Army Brat to Six Triple Eight Champion
    by Colonel Edna Cummings
  • Glory in their Spirit: How Four Black Women Took on the Army during WWII
    by Sandra Bolzenius
  • Think Veterans First: Pushing Through the Pandemic for the WIN!
