Dineh’ Tah Navaho Dancers To Perform at OU-Chillicothe

(Chillicothe) – Ohio University Chillicothe will present the Dineh’ Tah Dancers, from Albuquerque, New Mexico, as they perform traditional dances of the Dineh people on Thursday, November 7th at 1:30pm in the Bennett Hall Auditorium at OHIO Chillicothe.
These dances have been modified to respect the actual songs and dances used in sacred religious ceremonies. A representative from the Dineh’Tah group will begin the performance with an Ohio history related presentation on General William T. Sherman and his role in peace treaties through the Indian Peace Commission of 1867-1868.
This Native American Heritage Month event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Ohio University Chillicothe’s Cultural Committee, the Ohio University Chillicothe Giving Circle, and the Religious Tolerance Collection at Ohio University Chillicothe in memory of Stanley Planton.
