Ernie Blankenship Memorial Radio Telethon Rakes In Over $114,000

The Highland County Society for Children and Adults went well above the century mark in their 50th Annual Ernie Blankenship Memorial Radio-Telethon held in Hillsboro and Greenfield March 30th to raise funds for the operation of the Society.
When the radio-telethon went off the air Thursday, the total of donations raised was at $114, 561. Officials say they expect even more donations to come in the next couple of days.
The event, named for the Hall of Fame Radio Broadcaster Ernie Blankenship, who worked for WSRW and WCHO Radio over a span of half-a century. Blankenship organized the annual fundraiser and hosted it for more than 40 years, until he passed away.
The live Radio-Telethon was held at the Hillsboro Orpheum at 35 North High Street, is sponsored by Rotary Clubs of Hillsboro and Greenfield and will be broadcast over WSRW Radio in Hillsboro, WVNU in Greenfield, along with Spectrum Cable in Highland County.
