Fluor BWXT Hands Out Scholarships to Area HS Seniors

(Pike County) – Fluor-BWXT  has again shown support local students preparing for the next step in their educational journey with the FBP STEAM Scholarship program. This year FBP awarded $24,000 in scholarships to students in Pike, Scioto, Ross and Jackson counties who are pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. 

This year’s winners include:

Pike County: Kaleigh and Kendalynn Ficken, Waverly High School.

    Scioto County:

      Jacob Keller from Valley.

      Lainie Johnson of South Webster

      Miranda Johnson and Grant Wheeler of Minford.

      Ross County: Chloe Detty, Charles Lewis, Grayson Misita, Unioto High School.

        Jackson County: Max Gentry, Oak Hill High School.

          Hayden Jarvis and Dayne Neff, Jackson High School.

          “This is a highly competitive scholarship program and the level of talent and leadership among our applicants is truly remarkable,” said FBP President and CEO Greg Wilkett. “These students represent some of the brightest young minds in our community and we are proud to support their goals as they prepare for a STEAM career.”

          More than 100 students applied for this year’s scholarship, and twelve students were awarded $2,000 to pursue their degrees. Since 2011 the FBP STEAM Scholarship has awarded $312,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors.
