Foundation for Appalachian Ohio opens 2026 scholarship applications

Article presented by Tomlinson Insurance Agency, Inc.

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), in partnership with its donors and affiliate foundations, is accepting applications for more than 50 scholarship funds supporting the educational and career goals of students in the 32-county region.

2026 scholarship applications are available through Sunday, Feb. 15.

One new scholarship has been added to FAO’s general application cycle this year. The Area Agency on Aging Region 9 Scholarship supports students residing in the agency’s service area (Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum and Tuscarawas counties) who are pursuing an RN or LSW degree from a college or university within the service area.

Information about individual scholarship opportunities, including guidelines, eligibility requirements and application materials, is available at AppalachianOhio.org. Completed applications and all accompanying materials must be submitted online by Feb. 15.

Last year, FAO, it’s affiliate foundations and funding partners awarded more than $737,000 in postsecondary scholarships to support students starting or continuing their educational and career journeys.

FAO stewards more than 320 scholarship funds established through gifts from residents and friends of Appalachian Ohio who recognize the role education plays in ensuring the region’s people and communities can flourish. Since 2004, more than 5,500 scholarships have been awarded through FAO.
