Girls Bowling: Lynchburg-Clay D II Sectional Champs

Article presented by Rathkamp Financial Services

Lynchburg Clay won the Girls Division II Bowling Sectional Friday afternoon at Shawnee Lanes.

The Mustangs rolled a 3267 through the six Baker games to top the field.

Whiteoak (3181) finished runner up ahead of third place Eastern (3079) and Gallia Academy (3037) to round out the top four qualifying teams to advance to this Tuesday’s District.

Westfall fell short of advancing as a team, placing fifth, followed by Vinton County, Logan Elm, Fairfield, Rock Hill, South Point, Ironton, Circleville, New Lexington, Wellston, River Valley, Dawson-Bryant, Zane Trace, Sciotoville Community and Ripley.

Westfall’s Brianna Carter was the top individual qualifying for the District Tournament, rolling a 558. The other qualifiers include Marley Menendez-Santiago (538) of New Lexington, Logan Elm’s Marlo Smith (509) and Ironton’s Kimberly Osborne (498).

The Sectional was postponed due to snow last Tuesday morning.

Both the Girls and Boys District Tournament begins Monday at 11am at Shawnee Lanes. The top team and the top individual not on the winning team will advance to the State Tournament.
