Honoring Connie’s Vision
Article Presented By Adena Health…
(Chillicothe) – The Friends of Hopewell Culture is promoting an effort to pay tribute to the late Connie Meyer, while honoring her years of efforts to pay tribute to our diseased military veterans.
“We lost a valued member and active volunteer on November 19th, 2025. Connie Meyer passed away after being hit by a car in Chillicothe; she will be greatly missed by our group and many other service organizations in Ross County.”
Connie has been the Organizer of the Wreaths Across America program in Ross County for seven years. WAA is responsible for placing wreaths on the graves of veterans the second Saturday of December, across the nation.
In Ross County over 1,200 wreaths have been placed the last several years. Connie had set the goal for 3,000 wreaths to place on every veteran grave in Greenlawn Cemetery on Eastern Ave. in Chillicothe in December of 2026.
Connie’s family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Wreaths Across America program to reach this goal. WAA will match a free wreath for every wreath ordered before December 31st, 2025 for the 2026 wreath laying.
The goal is to provide 3,000 Wreaths in 2026 and donations for the wreaths can be made by:
- Checks dated by Dec. 30, $17 per wreath
- Payable to Nathaniel Massie Chapter DAR
- Mail to: PO Box 14, Chillicothe, OH 45601
