Jackson Blasts WCH for FAC Title Share
Article Presented By Rathkamp Financial
The Jackson Ironmen looked like “world beaters” Friday as they clinched no worse than a share of the FAC Football championship with a 63-21 pasting of the Washington CH Blue Lions.
Jackson scored on their first six possessions of the game, jumping out to a 21-0 lead after one quarter, and led 42-0 at halftime. By that point, Jackson had 259 total yards to only 1 for Washington CH.
With the continuous clock in play to start the second half, the Ironmen extended their lead to 49-0 before WCH finally scored, as both teams used more of their bench late in the game.
Jackson completely dominated both sides of the ball for the first three quarters. For the game, Jackson totaled 339 yards to 199 for WCH.
Ironmen offensive highlights included quarterback Jacob Winters throwing three touchdowns, Cade Wolford rushing for 109 yards and two TD’s- including a kickoff return of 70+ yards, Eli Broermann scored twice- as did Brodie Butcher.
Jackson quarterback Jacob Winters was named our McDonald’s “Player of the Game”.
Jackson improves to (4-0/7-2), clinching a share of the FAC, and can win it outright at Chillicothe next week with a win. Chillicothe beat Hillsboro 41-27 Friday, and can share the title by beating Jackson. That could also open the door for (3-1/7-2) WCH in a tri-championship scenario, if the Blue Lions beat arch-rival Miami Trace.
