Jackson Wins at Chillicothe For Unbeaten FAC Football Crown

The Jackson Ironmen completed their perfect FAC Football title run Friday with a 21-7 win at Chillicothe.

The game remained close most of the contest, with the first quarter being scoreless and Jackson scoring once in the second period for a 7-0 halftime lead.

The Ironmen built a 14-0 lead early in the fourth quarter before the Cavs scored their lone TD with 5:19 remaining. The one score contest didn’t last long, as Jackson put the icing on their championship cake with a score with 1:24 to play for the 21-7 final score.

4:36 2nd quarter: Cade Wolford runs for 2 yards for a touchdown (Point after kick by Thatcher Brown is good. (7-0)

8:43 4th quarter: Cade Wolford runs for 10 yards and a touchdown. Point after kick by Thatcher Brown is good. (14-0)

5:19 4th quarter: Mason Doughty pass complete to Tre King for 2 yard score. Point after kick by Mason Sibberell is good. (14-7)

1:24 4th quarter: Eli Broermann runs for 4 yard TD. Point after kick by Thatcher Brown is good. (21-7)

Jackson had 316 total yards to Chillicothe’s 168. Jackson’s Jacob Winters was 2/8 passing for 45 yards while Chillicothe’s Mason Doughty was 16/28 for 138. Jackson rushed for 271 yards and held Chillicothe to 30 yards on the ground.

McDonald’s “Player of the Game”, Cade Wolford of Jackson rushed for 236 yards on 38 carries and scored 2 TD’s.

Jackson improves to (8-2) while Chillicothe falls to (7-3). Both teams are playoff bound with official game assignments announced Sunday.
