Lancaster Post 11 Claims First State Baseball Title

(Lancaster, Ohio) – For the first time in the history of Lancaster American Legion Post 11, they have won a senior division Ohio American Legion Baseball State Championship. Post 11 pulled off the feat with an 8-5 win over Harrison/Yeager-Benson Post 199, Tuesday at Beaver Field.
Lancaster fell behind 1-0, then erupted for five runs in the second inning for a 5-1 advantage, then added three in the fifth inning for an 8-1 lead. Post 199’s rally came up short as Lancaster won the state crown 8-5.
Post 11 now advances to the Great Lakes Regional in Carroll Stream, Illinois.
The double elimination tournament, including teams from Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois, gets underway August 7th.
