(Lancaster) – Mount Pleasant in Lancaster will be closed to the public Friday, October 10th, due to preparations for the Fairfield County Fair fireworks display taking place that evening.
The mountain side overlook of the city is a popular destination for hikers at Rising Park in Lancaster.
“To ensure everyone’s safety while setup is underway, all visitors not affiliated with Lancaster Parks & Recreation or the fireworks staff must vacate the mountain by 12pm (noon) on that date”, said Lancaster Parks & Recreation officials.
In the event of rain, this same closure notice will apply to the rain date of Saturday, October 11th.
Mount Pleasant will reopen to the public, the day after the fireworks show.
