McClain Boys, Athens Girls Top SE Sectional Swim Meet

Saturday’s Southeast Sectional Swim Meet at Ohio University had the McClain Tigers taking the top spot in the Boys Division while the Athens Bulldogs were first in the Girls Meet.
Athens was second among the boys followed by Chillicothe, Fairfield Union and Warren to round out the top five. Warren, Wheelersburg, Chillicothe and McClain finished second through fifth for the girls.
The Bulldogs won nearly all the individual events in the girls meet with the lone exception being Wheelersburg’s Catie Boggs in the 100 Breaststroke. Wheelersburg also took the Girls 200 Medley Relay while Athens swept the 200 Free and 400 Free Relays.
Athens notched wins in most of the boys individual events as well. However, Warren’s Mason tallied wins in the 50 Free and 100 Free with River Valley’s Levi Priddy taking the 100 Backstroke. Warren won the 200 Medley Relay while Athens duplicated the girls’ feat in the 200 and 400 Free Relays.
Swimmers advanced to the combined Central, East and Southeast District Championship Meet which will be held at Ohio University’s Ohio Aquatic Center this weekend. The Division II Meets will be held Friday, beginning with the Boys at 10:30am followed by the Girls at 4:45pm. The Division I Meets begin with the Boys at 10:30am Saturday and the Girls to follow at 4:15pm.
