
Miami Trace Bounces Chillicothe 63-45 to Remain Undefeated

Miami Trace left no doubt in their desire to keep an undefeated season in tact Friday as they posted a 63-45 win over Chillicothe in the Boys D-III Quarterfinal tournament game.

The Panthers came out of the blocks sizzling, nailing 61-oercent of their shots from the field, including six three-pointers in the opening period to build a double-figure advantage at 25-11. Skye Salyers led the hit parade to start, dropping four missiles from long-range in the first 8-minutes of play. He and Trey Robinette combined for 21-points in the period. Salyers finished with 17-points and Robinette 11.
Coming off an impressive 66-29 opening round win Tuesday over Sheridan, Chillicothe simply couldn’t find that same groove Friday.
Miami Trace built its lead and never allowed the Cavaliers to climb closer than 11-points the rest of the evening.
Recently named Frontier Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Adam Guthrie scored 19-points to lead all scorers on a night where the Panthers nearly doubled offensive rebounds on Chillicothe, 19-10. Also in double figures, Julia Baker with 11.

Chillicothe was led in scoring by freshman Cartae Ligon with 15 and Caydon Cox with 12. The Cavaliers finished the season 12-12 and return most of its roster for 2025-26.
Miami Trace will take a 22-0 record into battle with 21-2 Warren this Tuesday at Logan High School in the District Semi-Final. The game will tip-off at 7pm.
