New Bridge & Bridge Rehab Proposed in Jackson County

(Chillicothe) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge replacement project on State Route 327 and a bridge rehabilitation on State Route 32 in Jackson County.

JAC-327-13.58(110561) It is proposed to replace the bridge on S.R. 327 at the 13.58 mile mark in Jackson County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Washington Township.

The project will require approximately 0.228 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along the forested stream channel.

The project will require approximately 0.084 acres of temporary right-of-way. The temporary right-of-way is located along the forested stream channel.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The detour will be S.R. 327 to S.R. 93 to S.R. 683 to U.S. 50 to S.R. 327. The detour is approximately 20 miles.

JAC-32-17.51(110561) It is proposed to rehabilitate the bridge over S.R. 327 on S.R. 32 in Jackson County, Ohio. The project will repair the abutments of the bridge. The project is located in a rural area of Milton Township.

No new right-of-way will be needed for the project.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

The roadway will be open for the duration of the project.

The funding for the projects is 80% Federal and 20% State.

The environmental commitment date is 7/1/2025. The projects are currently expected to be awarded 1/1/2026.
