New Bridge Proposed for Jackson’s Big Run Road

(Jackson) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge replacement project on Township Road 230 (Big Run Road) in Jackson County.
JAC-TR-230-3.09 (119418) It is proposed to replace the bridge on T.R. 230 (Big Run Rd.) at the 3.09 mile mark in Jackson County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Liberty Township.
No new right-of-way will be needed for the project.
No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.
The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The state detour will be T.R. 230 to C.R. 56 to C.R. 25 to T.R. 219 to T.R. 230. The detour is approximately 4 miles.
The funding for the project is Federal and Local.
The environmental commitment date is 5/1/2025. The project is currently expected to be awarded 9/2/2025.
