ODOT District 9 Seeks Public Comment On Projects in Ross, Pike & Scioto Counties

(Chillicothe) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge replacement project on State Route 207 in Ross County, realignment project on County Road 36 in Pike County and a culvert replacement on State Route 139 in Scioto County.

ROS-207-4.75 (PID 116074) It is proposed to replace the structure on S.R. 207 at the 4.75 mile mark in Ross County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Union Township between Rinkliff Lane and Stone Road.

The project will not require new right-of-way. The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project.

The state detour will be S.R. 207 to S.R. 104 to U.S. 35 to S.R. 138 to S.R. 207. The state detour is approximately 23 miles. No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% Local. The environmental commitment date is 8/1/2023. The project is currently expected to be awarded 10/1/2024

PIK-36-4.35 (PID 117094) It is proposed to realign the intersection of C.R. 36 (Pleasant Hill Rd.) and S.R. 220. The project is located in Pee Pee Township in Pike County.

The project will require approximately 1.407 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located in residential lawns and a forested hillside.

The project will require approximately 0.214 acres of temporary right-of-way. The temporary right-of-way is located in residential lawns and a forested hillside.

S.R. 220 will be open for the duration of the project. No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. C.R. 36 will be closed for the duration of the project.

The detour will be Pleasant Hill Rd. to T.R. 407 to T.R. 429 to Clines Chapel Road Prosperity Road to S.R. 220 to Pleasant Hill Road. The detour is approximately 6 miles.

The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% Local. The environmental commitment date is 7/31/2023. The project is currently expected to be awarded 4/15/2024

SCI-139-7.65 (PID 115177) It is proposed to replace the culvert on S.R. 139 at the 7.65mile mark in Scioto County, Ohio. The project is located in a residential area of Jefferson Township between Burns Hollow Road and Smith – Perry Road.

The project will require approximately 0.216 acres of temporary right-of-way. The temporary right-of-way is located in a parking lot and residential lawns.

The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The state detour will be S.R. 139 to S.R. 335 to U.S. 52 to S.R. 139. The state detour is approximately 14.3 miles. No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State. The environmental commitment date is 7/1/2023. The project is currently expected to be awarded 7/1/2024
