Ohio Glass Museum Announces New Manager

Article Presented By Pike County Career & Technology Center…

(Lancaster) – The Ohio Glass Museum has announced that Scott Fouche has returned to Lancaster to become the Glass Studio Manager. Fouche previously worked as a glass artist for the museum in the hot glass studio.

Scott Fouché graduated from Bloom-Carroll Local School District and, while attending The Ohio State University, worked for established, local glass artists. After graduating in 2008, with a bachelor’s degree in fine art, he continued working with glass artists in the Midwest.“

“Scott has traveled extensively within the country as well as France, Italy and Turkey to visit and work with accomplished glass artists,” said Museum Board President Dan Singer. “His journeys have given him the ability to apply established hot glass forming methods as well as discovering new and creative techniques for the glass blowing process while developing a greater appreciation of glass art history and contributions of master artists. This vast knowledge will now be available to our patrons and students.”

A seasoned instructor as well as an artist, Fouche designs and creates custom-made functional and artistic glass pieces for individuals, such as vases, lighting and decanters. As a small business and independent contractor, he collaborates with area glass artists, provides technical design consultation, and fabricates studio equipment for individual artists and glass studios around the country. Expounding on his appreciation for educating the public, he is building a mobile studio/hot shop for demonstrations and sharing his knowledge while exhibiting glass as an art form at community festivals and corporate events.

Fouche already is instructing glassblowing classes at the museum, as well as giving daily demonstrations in the hot glass studio.
