COLUMBUS – The Ohio Department of Veterans Services (ODVS) is currently accepting applications for two open positions on the Women Veterans Advisory Committee (WVAC). This committee plays a critical role in advising ODVS on issues impacting women veterans and supporting programs that serve their unique needs.
About the WVAC
The WVAC provides counsel and insight to the Director of ODVS and assists with projects on behalf of women veterans when requested. Members help shape policies and initiatives that improve the lives of Ohio’s women veterans.

Qualifications
- Must be a current service member or an honorably discharged veteran as defined in Ohio Revised Code 5903.01
- Must reside in Ohio
- Bring a range of backgrounds and experience to represent diverse perspectives
- Members serve two-year terms at the pleasure of the Director
Expectations
- Attend quarterly meetings per year (with occasional special meetings)
- Maintain at least three-fifths attendance over two years, as required by Ohio law
- Actively participate in discussions and subcommittees
- Meetings are open to the public and conducted under the Ohio Open Meetings Act
