Operation Santa’s Sleigh to Cross Ohio for Children’s Hospitals and Veterans Hospitals
Article Presented By Pickaway Ross CTC Adult Education…
(Columbus) – Operation Santa’s Sleigh 2025 is a statewide event by Light Ohio Blue and our partners at the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association, Ohio State Highway Patrol, International Association of Firefighters, State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police and the hundreds of public safety agencies. Operation Santa’s Sleigh will occur in nine cities in Ohio simultaneously on December 23, 2025.
All the Children’s Hospitals, the state Veterans Homes in Georgetown and Sandusky; and the VA in-patient Medical Centers located in Chillicothe, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Dayton will be visited by first responders to spread holiday cheer to some of the most special Ohioans. The event is solely comprised of first responders who will turn on their lights as a way of letting everyone there know they are remembered during the holidays and to let the children know we are lighting the way for Santa and his crew to arrive the following night. We encourage the public to come and line the route and help spread the holiday spirit.
A first responder caravan of public safety vehicles will be parading around the inpatient wards at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center at 7pm Tuesday, December 23rd.
Participating agencies are encouraged to drop off sweat suits for the Veterans on December 23. All donated items will be taken to Voluntary Services to be given to the Veterans in need. Please note: This donation site is not open to the public.
