OU Chillicothe Launches Campus Jaunt 5K

(Chillicothe) – Ohio University Chillicothe’s new Interim Dean Michael Lafreniere is excited to announce the launch of the Campus Jaunt 5K, a monthly event designed to bring together students, faculty, staff and members of the surrounding community in a celebration of movement, connection and campus pride.

The Campus Jaunt 5K will take place on the second Friday of every month, from noon to 1pm, with participants gathering at the east entrance of Bennett Hall. Whether you walk, run, hop, skip, saunter or meander, all are welcome to join in this invigorating midday break.

Lafreniere, an avid outdoor enthusiast and member of the local Ignite Runners Collective, recognizes the importance of community engagement, physical wellness and campus spirit.

The 5K course will wind through the scenic OHIO Chillicothe campus, offering participants a refreshing way to enjoy the outdoors while engaging with fellow community members.

“We invite you to come, meet people, move and experience the trail and trees,” Lafreniere said, highlighting his focus on wellness and camaraderie.

This initiative reflects OHIO Chillicothe’s ongoing commitment to fostering a vibrant, healthy and inclusive campus environment.

All are welcome to participate in the Campus Jaunt at noon on Aug. 8, 2025, and each second Friday.
