Paints Climb Back Into First Place with Win Over Miners

Presented by McDonald’s, I’m Lovin’ It!

Ryley Preece (Morehead State) and Ben Gbur (Wooster) powered the Chillicothe Paints offense Friday in a 10-1 win over West Virginia.

Preece drove in 5-runs and added his first home run of the summer while Gbur hit his 8th round tripper and added three rbi.

Zach Kendall (Rio Grande) struck out 9 Miners and allowed the lone run on three hits over 6 and a third innings for the win. Drew Wilson (Baldwin Wallace) and Bradley Dunn (Grand Rapids) held West Virginia to one hit while combining for five more K’s.

The fourth straight win propels Chillicothe atop the Prospect League Ohio River Valley Division ahead of Johnstown which suffered an 11-7 loss to the Champion City Kings.

Chillicothe heads to Springfield for a weekend series with Champion City.
