Paints Score 9-Runs in 9th to beat the Kings 13-2

After five scoreless innings in Springfield Saturday night, the Paints turned a 2-1 lead into a 13-2 victory over Champion City.
Kent Reeser (Rio Grande) broke the ice for the Paints with a two run homer in the 6th. It was the first of four two-run home runs on the night for Chillicothe which smashed five homers on the night.
Chillicothe took a 4-1 lead into their final at bat, then erupted for a nine-run night-inning.
The Paints hit four home runs in the 9th inning. Alex Ludwick (Baldwin Wallace) got the fireworks started after Ryley Preece (Morehead State) drew a lead off walk. Ludwick knocked his third homer of the season. Reeser singled and Issac Blair (Indianapolis) followed with another two-run shot. Then, Nathan Karaffa (Ohio State) singled and Trey Maeker (Forham) socked the third two-run shot of the inning. Jackson Feltner (Morehead State) drilled a solo round tripper. Before the Kings could get out of the frame, Preece walked for a second time in the inning, Ludwick followed with a single and Reeser drilled a triple to bring the two home.
Dane Armbrustmacher (Western Michigna) had a solid pitching performance, striking out six, yielding one run on five hits over seven-innings of work. Three relievers finished from the mound. Marshall Pile (Charleston) and Ruben Ramierez (Point Park) worked a scoreless eight and Ludwick pitched the 9th closing it out with two hits and a run.
It’s the 15th time the Paints have scored more than 10-runs in a game this season and the 14th time since June 19th.
The two clubs play again Sunday afternoon in Springfield.
The division leading Paints maintain a half-game lead over Johnstown who scored a 7-5 win over West Virginia.
