Pickaway-Ross Hosting 17th Annual Battle of the Bands September 5th

(Chillicothe) – Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center will host its 17th Annual Battle of the Bands on Friday, September 5th, starting at 9:30am on the school’s main campus.

Nine partner school marching bands—Adena, Huntington, Southeastern, Chillicothe, Circleville, Zane Trace, Unioto, Paint Valley and Westfall—will compete in front of Pickaway-Ross students, staff, and families. Students from Pickaway-Ross will vote to determine the winner, who will receive the traveling trophy and have their school’s name added to the plaque.

Chillicothe High School enters this year’s competition as the back-to-back champion, winning in 2023 and 2024. Unioto, which took second place the past two years after winning consecutive titles in 2021 and 2022, will look to reclaim the top spot. Westfall, last year’s third-place finisher, also returns to the competition.

“The Battle of the Bands is one of our favorite traditions at Pickaway-Ross.  Not only does it showcase the incredible talent of our local marching bands, but it also gives our students the chance to cheer on and stay connected with their home schools.  We’re proud to host this event and invite the community to come out and enjoy a morning of music and school spirit.”, said Janet Barrows, Career Development Coordinator and organizer of Battle of the Bands. 

The first bands will step off at 9:30am. The public is welcome to attend but encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. The event will take place at Pickaway-Ross CTC Main campus at 895 Crouse Chapel Road, Chillicothe.
