Public Comments Sought For 2 ODOT Projects in Jackson County

(ODOT District 9) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a couple of highway projects in Jackson County.
JAC-35-18.16 (118107) It is proposed to perform an intersection improvement project at the U.S. 35 and Dixon Run Road intersection in Jackson County, Ohio. The project is located in Newton Township.
No new right-of-way will be needed for the project.
No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.
U.S. 35 will be open for the duration of the project. Dixon Run Road and Clary Road will be closed during different phases of construction. Dixon Run Road will be detoured to C H & D Road to U.S. 35. Clary Road will be detoured to Standpipe Road to U.S. 35.
The funding for the project is 90% Federal and 10% State.
The Environmental Commitment date is 9/26/2025. The project is currently expected to be awarded 6/1/2026.
JAC-93-23.48 (114433) It is proposed to replace the existing culvert on S.R. 93 between Electric Park Road and Ed Davis Road in Jackson County, Ohio. The project is located in the rural area of Coal Township.
The project will require approximately 0.258 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along the forested stream channel.
No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.
The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The state detour will be S.R. 93 to S.R. 788 to S.R. 93. The detour is approximately 6.2 miles.
The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State.
The Environmental Commitment date is 9/15/2025. The project is currently expected to be awarded 10/1/2026.
