
PUCO schedules public hearings on proposed Aqua Ohio water and wastewater rate increases

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Jan. 6, 2026) – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) scheduled three public hearings to provide customers the chance to express their views on the applications of Aqua Ohio and Aqua Ohio Wastewater to increase their rates and charges for waterworks and sewage disposal services. The local public hearings are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, beginning at 5 p.m.

Individuals who testify will be required to provide their full name and contact information during the registration process. Individuals can register on the PUCO website or by calling the PUCO Call Center at (800) 686-7826.
Those that testify will have their comments included in the case record. An evidentiary hearing will take place at the PUCO offices in Columbus at 10 a.m. on Feb. 4, 2026.

Case Backgrounds
Water
Aqua Ohio is seeking to increase its annual revenues for water service in applicable service areas by $13.4 million, or 16.4% over current revenues.
On Dec. 16, 2025, PUCO’s staff filed a report which recommends a revenue increase between $8.7 million and $9.9 million, or between 10.63% and 12.14% over current revenues.
Sewer/Wastewater
Aqua Ohio Wastewater is seeking to increase its annual revenues for sewer service in applicable service areas by approximately $1.2 million, or 29.7% over current revenues for the company’s Franklin areas formerly served by Ohio American Water Company, Firestone Trace, and Southwood Estates.
On Dec. 16, 2025, PUCO’s staff filed a report which recommends a revenue increase between approximately $879,231 and $950,909, or between 21.3% and 23% over current revenues for the company’s Franklin areas.
