Rally Race Organizer Memorialized in Chillicothe

A plaque and bench to honor the contributions to Rally Racing in southern Ohio, by the late Richard “Dick” Paddock, now sits along the Chillicothe Bike Path.
This bench was purchased by the Southern Ohio Forest Rally to honor Paddock, who was essential to the start and growth of rally in Southern Ohio. He was a driver as well as the organizer of the “Sunriser 400” for many years here in the area.
“We most likely would not have started the Southern Ohio Forest Rally if it weren’t for Dick and his contributions to rally in our area, his guidance and the fact that we wouldn’t have enjoyed rally as kids and young adults without the Sunriser.”
The bench was placed at the jump on SS1 (along the bike batch behind Chillicothe High School) for all to see and enjoy and as a way to honor Dick’s legacy here in Southern Ohio.
Paddock died in 2015.
