(Chillicothe) – The Board of Health announces that Janelle McManis, MPH, REHS, has been selected as the next Health Commissioner of the Ross County Health District. Her appointment as Health Commissioner will begin on February 14, 2023.

Janelle McManis

McManis has over 16 years of experience with the Vinton County Health Department, most recently serving as the Administrator and previously serving in multiple administrative roles including Deputy Administrator/Director of Environmental Health and Accreditation Coordinator. As Accreditation Coordinator, McManis led Vinton County Health Department to receive National Accreditation through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Additionally, she is also a Ohio Registered Environmental Health Specialist and currently serves as a current member of the Ohio Environmental Health Association’s Sewage Technical Committee.

McManis received her Master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion from Liberty University and Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree from Capital University. Born in Ross County, she currently resides in Vinton County with her husband and 2 children.

McManis will fill the vacancy left by Garrett Guillozet, who has resigned to become Health Commissioner of the Delaware Public Health District, which is much closer to his central Ohio home.
