Rotary Club of Lancaster Receives $10,000 Gift for Accessible Playground

Article Presented By Litter Quality Propane…

(Lancaster) – The Rotary Club of Lancaster has accepted a generous gift of $10,000 from Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan to help fund the proposed Rotary All-Accessible Playground in Lancaster’s Miller Park.

The playground will occupy the current Miller Park along with the All-Abilities Ball Field and is estimated to cost slightly more than $1 million. Rotary has secured more than 50 percent of those funds to date.

“Our Rotary members continue to be humbled by the generosity of the community as we push forward the development of the All-Accessible Playground,” said Mike Lieber of the Rotary Park Committee.

“While this is a huge undertaking, the burden has been greatly alleviated by the support we are receiving from businesses, like Fairfield Federal, who continue to be the backbone of the community.”

“This donation speaks to the mission of Fairfield Federal, to support our customers and community as much as we can.  The Rotary playground will be enjoyed by children of all abilities for years to come.” said Mary Snider, President of Fairfield Federal.

“This gift honors the memory of longtime Fairfield Federal President Ron Keaton who was a past-president of the Lancaster Rotary Club and set the example for community service.  Several of our staff and members of our Board of Directors are Rotarians too, and we are all passionate supporters of this vibrant community.”

Donations for the project are being sought and interested donors can contribute through the Fairfield County Foundation, www.fairfieldcountyfoundation.org.

The name of the fund is Rotary Club of Lancaster Playground Fund.
