She’s Back: Weaver Headed to Chicago for Elk’s Hoops Shoot Nationals

Article presented by Herlihy Moving & Storage

Ainsley Weaver won the Regional Hoop Shoot Saturday and will be heading to the Nationals again while Gigi Trotter just missed following her to Chicago.

Weaver was in the spotlight as the 8-9 year old National Champion in 2024. The Paint Valley Elementary Student just missed a return trip last year. Weaver will represent the Great Lakes Region, which includes Indiana, Ohio and Michigan, one of 12 regions nationwide, in the 10-11 year old division.

The National competition is April 18th in Chicago.

Chillicothe’s GiGi Trotter came up short in the 8-9 year old division. Trotter found herself in a shoot off with the Indiana State champion and finished in 2nd place.

Weaver and Trotter began their respective  journeys by winning the Chillicothe District Elk’s Hoop Shoot this winter, representing Chillicothe Elk’s Lodge #52.

Congratulation kids!
