(Piketon) – The Scioto Foundation is moving their community forward in innovative ways, and the Southern Ohio Cleanup Company (SOCCo) is supporting their efforts with a $1,000 donation to Scioto 365.
Scioto 365 is a community leadership program through the Foundation that provides grants to Scioto County organizations focused on creating vibrant, healthy, and safe neighborhoods.
“There are so many great organizations working to make a difference in their communities, and the Southern Ohio Cleanup Company is honored to support the hard work of Scioto 365. They not only find the charities ready to make a change, but help them reach their goals,” said SOCCo President and CEO Pat Timbes.
Scioto 365 is a member-funded grant-making program where members donate $365 a year, the concept being a dollar a day, and can participate in voting for grants and crafting the yearly theme. But, business support, like SOCCo’s donation, is also important for growth.
“The support from local businesses allows us to increase the amount of our grants and also raise awareness in the community about our important programs,” said Scioto Foundation Program Officer-Donor Services Patty Tennant. “We need everyone’s help to make this program work. Donations like this benefit other nonprofits in our community in a very direct and immediate way.”
Since the start of the program in 2017, Scioto 365 has awarded more than $123,000 to community programs.
