South Webster celebrates after beating Adena

South Webster Stays Perfect As They End Adena VB’s Season in Regional Semis

Article Presented By Pickaway Ross CTC…

The South Webster Jeeps showed why they are (26-0) heading into Saturday’s Division 3 Regional Final against (22-5) Meadowbrook. The Jeeps are GOOD.

After dropping a wild 28-26 Set 1 when Adena rallied from three set-points for the win, South Webster gathered their offensive attack and went to work, picking the Warriors defense apart the rest of the match with tough serving and off-speed attacks that caught Adena off guard.

Set 2 stayed close through 13-13, when the Jeeps started to make their move for a 16-13 lead. Adena called timeout, only to find themselves behind 19-15, before rallying to within 20-18. The Jeeps would not allow them to get any closer, evening the match with a 25-20 win.

Set 3 turned the tide completly to South Webster as they roared to a 7-0 start and built leads as much as 12 in a 25-11 victory for a (2-1) match lead.

Set 4 started much the same way, with the Jeeps building a 9-3 lead before Adena called timeout. The Warriors later cut the deficit to 17-13, before South Webster took off on another run that would prove to be the getaway in a 25-19 match win.

South Webster showed a balanced attack with three players in double-digit kills and two others were 9 each. Bella Claxon led the charge with 17 kills, Skylar Zimmerman had 14, makayla Raynard 10, then Maryn Smith and Mia Crum each added 9 kills. The Jeeps also fired 8 aces on the service line.

Adena was led by Katie Burns with 15 kills, while Eva Kruger and Brinlee Preston each had 10 kills. Corrine Day had 5 kills.

South Webster improves to (26-0) and faces (22-5) Meadowbrook at 2pm Saturday for the D-3 Regional Championship at Logan High School.

Adena closes their season as District Champ and a record of (18-8).
