Southern Ohio Forest Rally Runs June 6th-8th

(Chillicothe) – City of Chillicothe Parks and Recreation Director, Bill Bonner announces that the Southern Ohio Forest Rally (SOFR), will be held in Yoctangee Park on June 6th, 2024. The SOFR will be using areas of Yoctangee Park and Yoctangee Park Annex to hold their annual car rally with the rally moving to arera forest roads Friday and Saturday.

The closures will be in effect Thursday June 6th, 2024, at 6am and will end at 11pm.

The following areas will be closed within Yoctangee Park – The Donald M. Smith Memorial Pool, Bolmer Field, Diamond 2, The Paint Creek Recreational Trail (Bike Path), Bolmer Field Basketball Courts, Pumphouse Basketball Courts, Pumphouse, Yoctangee Park Annex, Frisbee Golf back 9, Volleyball Courts. Areas that will be inaccessible by vehicle include Diamond 1, Tennis Courts, Water Treatment Plant Paint and Borland’s Crossing. Areas that will remain open include the Playground, and Yoctangee Lake’s surrounding area.

Friday’s rally schedule has drivers at Shawnee State Forest and on Saturday at Zaleski State Forest.

Starting June 5th, some state forest roads and corresponding bridle trails, will be closed at Scioto Trail, Shawnee, and Zaleski state forests during the Southern Ohio Forest Rally 2024. The annual car rally runs June 5 through June 8 this year. Closures at the state forests are as follows:
