The program was introduced in 2022 and is ready for freshmen in the Fall of 2026. A social media post by Ohio University reads “Attend an Ohio University regional campus this fall 2026 — with your tuition fully covered.” That’s an eye opener for students and parents alike.

In addition, Cochran says students are also eligible for a guaranteed One OHIO scholarship should they choose to finish their degree by relocating to to Athens campus. According to the Ohio University website, that’s a $5,000 renewable scholarship.
“The OHIO Regional Promise is an automatic four-year renewable scholarship that will cover up to the full cost of regional campus tuition and mandatory fees for full-time, Pell-eligible students with a minimum high school GPA of 3.0.”
The deadline to submit and application has been extended to January 15, 2026.
