Swimming: Lancaster’s Hensley & McMasters Qualify for State Meet

Article presented by Adena Health …

Lancaster’s Will McMasters and Jack Hensley were the only local state qualifiers from Saturday’s D I Central-East-Southeast District Swim Meet at Ohio University. Prelims for the D I State Championships are Thursday with the Finals on Friday at Canton’s C.T. Branin Natatorium.

Hensley placed 3rd in the Boys 200 IM and 100 Butterfly while McMasters placed 9th in both the Boys 200 IM and 100 Backstroke. Hensley’s times seeds him 6th in the state meet in the 200 IM and 7th in the 100 Butterfly. McMasters is seeded 23rd in the 100 Back and 24th in the 200 IM.

Meanwhile, none of the local swimmers from the D II qualified for the State Championships.

Of the Southeast District swimmers in D II, Athens swimmers performed well while three others qualified individually: Warren’s Mason Francis, River Valley’s Levi Priddy and Wheelersburg’s Catie Boggs.
