Estimates that ranged from 10,000-20,000 people gathered throughout Downtown Chillicothe Saturday night to help Kenworth Truck Company celebrate their 100th anniversary.
Kenworth drivers from as far west as California, east to Virginia and Florida, south to Texas and north to Canada were among the 53 trucks that participated in the second annual parade. One Kenworth buyer from Australia was also recognized in the crowd of onlookers for the celebration.
Trucks parade included a vintage 1923 Kenworth to the 750,000th truck manufactured at the Chillicothe plant earlier this year.
The almost two-hour long parade was concluded with a concert from the Mantz Brothers Band out of Nashville, as they performed from a flatbed trailer pulled by one the latest Kenworth model trucks.
Next year will represent the 50th anniversary of Kenworth Truck’s Chillicothe, Ohio operation and expects to be another big year for the parade.
