(Chillicothe) – As travelers turn their vacation aspirations toward spooky encounters, live Oktoberfests, and cider-fueled pumpkin patch strolls, the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau announces the debut of the official 2024 Ohio Fall Events Guide, featuring numerous events such as the Frankenstein Experience at Haunted Mountain, the Chillicothe Halloween Festival, the Fall Festival of Leaves, along with many others.
Now available online at www.Ohio.org, the guide spotlights standout events from each of Ohio’s 88 counties, showcasing a total of 440 must-see happenings across the state. Organized by month and region, the guide is your ultimate roadmap to discovering Ohio’s most unique and unforgettable fall adventures.
“Ohio in the fall is pure magic,” said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development, which oversees TourismOhio. “From vibrant foliage to festivals that bring our rich traditions to life, there’s no-better time to explore everything Ohio has to offer.”
TourismOhio consulted with county visitor bureaus to curate this list of events that take place from September through early November. It includes iconic Ohio traditions to beloved local gems, and a wide range of seasonal festivals and events to entertain travelers throughout the state. The Fall Events Guide is new for TourismOhio, following the successful debut of the official 2024 Ohio Summer Events Guide earlier this year at Ohio Tourism Day. Readers can learn more about these events online at Ohio.org to plan their trips.
“With cooler temperatures and sunny skies, fall is the perfect time to explore Ohio,” said State Tourism Director Sarah Wickham. “Whether you’re up for a festive adventure or a serene getaway, fall in Ohio offers the perfect blend of beauty and excitement.”
Chillicothe and Ross County, like many other communities throughout Ohio, has plenty of exciting experiences just for the fall season. Additionally, if travelers are looking for a peaceful and serene escape, there are over 225-miles of trails where they can immerse themselves into the beauty of the region. From historical sites such as Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, part of Ohio’s only UNESCO World Heritage site to the breathtaking views of the cliffs at Buzzard’s Roost Nature Preserve.
“We are proud to partner with TourismOhio to promote fall fun in Ohio,” stated Melody Young, Executive Director of the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Fall is not only just a beautiful time of the year in the Appalachian foothills of southern Ohio, but also brings plenty of fun and excitement for travelers with our unique festivals and Halloween thrills.”
TourismOhio is set to roll-out even more fall-focused content as the season unfolds. Travelers can expect new inspiration and trip-planning tools in the coming weeks at Ohio.org. Visitors can also download the official Visit Chillicothe Ohio mobile app to learn about the featured events in the Fall Events Guide along with many other activities.
